Sagittal ring "D-shaped"; 41-93µm high; 28-68µm thick; joined directly to lattice shell between apical and vertical spines. Apical spine 6-28µm long; Vertical spine very short, projecting from lower third of sagittal ring; no axial spine. Some specimens have two single connector bars on front of sagittal ring. frontal, sternal. primary-lateral, and secondary-lateral bars joined to basal ring; tertiary-lateral bars attatched to lattice shell above basal ring. In other skeletons, lattice shell joined directly to front of sagittal ring; frontal spine present; no frontal bar; basal ring joined directly to front of sagittal ring.
Basal ring oval; 28-62µm wide; 21-37µm thick; encloses four or six basal spines. Three or five basal spines project from basal ring. Two basal spines adjacent to lateral extremes of basal ring. In some specimens, basal spine adjacent to frontal bar; in other skeletons one of basal spines is frontal spines. Some skeletons have two basal spines adjacent to primary lateral bars. In a few specimens, five basal spines are short, thin, broadly triangular in outline, and of equal length, whereas the two basal spines at the lateral extremes of the basal ring are greater in length and diameter than the other three basal spines in other spcimens. In skeletons lacking basal spines adjacent to primary lateral bars, frontal spine is very short; basal spines at lateral extremes of basal ring are massive and have irregularlybranched distal ends. Lattice shell globose; 65-116µm wide; not constricted sagittally; not extending below basal ring. In skeletons having flat basal spines, lattice shell smooth; in skeletons having circular basal spines, lattice shell tuberculate. Single pair of lattice spines, 9-70µm long, projects from apical-lateral margins of lattice shell. Variable number of lattice bars joined to sigittal or basal rings. Lattice pores subcircular and 2-15µm in diameter. Some specimens have vertical pore, whereas other skeletons have frontal and sternal pores.
